Tips To Transitioning Your Wardrobe From Summer to Fall

As fall approaches I typically don't purchase many fall pieces because I live in the South and have a longer summer but as it gets closer to the winter and the cooler air draws near I find myself implementing a few tips to get the most out of my wardrobe.

1. Layer Layer Layer: Purchase blazers (thrift store) cardigans, jean jackets to layer with long maxi dresses for cooler nights.
2. Booties: Are fun to wear especially peep toe booties which are perfect for end of summer/fall weather.
3. Stockings: You can still wear some of your dresses and skirts just pair them with a durable pair of stockings or leggings.

All White Party: The struggle of finding the perfect plus size all white dress

Last night I went to the 14th annual All White Affair given annually by CGI Entertainment. I don't go out often but I make a effort to support this event. Mostly because it's different than the typical Saturday night club crowd. All White Parties typically bring out the who's who of the city and last night wasn't a exception. The night was filled with good music, food and drinks. I love the layout of the Carde building and although I wished I would've taken more pictures I was busy enjoying myself with a new friend.

  Being that I'm a fashion enthusiast I love to see what people are wearing especially my plus size sisters. As a plus size woman I know how difficult it can be to find the perfect All White Dress for a event. I opted to purchase dress from a "instagram" boutique and honestly I sort of regretted it. Why? Well I saw two other women with the same dress!!!!

It's nothing more awkward then seeing someone else with the same exact dress on not once but twice but in all honesty what could I expect when I opted to shop on instagram. I wasn't the only woman who seem to have this issue however, as I saw several repeat outfits mostly all white skirts and dresses that can be bought on many of the well known instagram shops. While I'm not saying that purchasing items from instragram is necessarily bad but if you're looking for exclusivity then you're best option is to think outside the box. So I wanted to share a few tips, in all honesty find a plus size dress isn't hard but it solely depends on your budget and how many coins you are willing to spare for a one-time event. In my case I tend to only wear these dresses once a year so I tend to limit my budget for this event. I paired my white dress with my Chanel CC earnings and a handmade body chain necklace. I purchased my shoes from Shoedazzle and paired it with my moto-jacket hot pink purse.

Strong is the New Skinny: Plus Size OOTD Coachella Inspired

So today was a super casual day I didn't do much but was very inspired by the Coachella festival so I decided to wear my cute headband from Wetseal and my Strong is the New Skinny tank. I paired it with a pair of causal shorts from Forever 21 my Louis Vuitton Eva and my favorite flats from Target.

Causal Cool Saturday: Plus Size OOTD

   Fall has arrived and I'm not ready. It has been rather cool in Memphis for the last few days. So I decided to wear a light knit sweater since I haven't had the chance to prepare my wardrobe for fall yet. I wanted to be comfy but chic because I knew we would be out all evening.

New Plus-Size Seller on eBay that caters to the curvy fashionista.

I honestly believe the only way to offer variety to your wardrobe is to always have a open-mind when shopping. With that said, I literally shop any and everywhere. I've purchased several pieces of clothing from eBay but I was surprised to find a seller who sold several plus-size date night dresses. I decided to place a sample order to review the quality of clothing before I purchased a huge order and was very pleased with the quality of this dress. I really like the uniqueness of this dress as I haven't seen it anywhere and I love the nude color. The lace sleeves makes it perfect for late summer or early fall. Enjoy

Carrie Bradshaw Inspired + Size Tutu OOTD

Every now and then it's perfectly okay to dress up and do something outside the norm. So when I saw this tutu on Zelieforshe.com I was automatically taken back to Sex and the City and Ms. Carrie Bradshaw. I wore this outfit for my 29th birthday and had a ball. Now while I know this isn't for everyone but sometimes it's fun to be different and the tutu skirt is very feminine and girly which is right up my alley. Enjoy.

How to style a tutu

When it comes to styling a tutu it's important to keep it simple and allow the tutu to be the focus point. My rule of thumb is balance, in this case my tutu is big so I paired it with a simple tank from Old Navy, my floral statement necklace from Target, the Law Handbag from Justfab and my pointed-toe neutral pumps from Aldo.

Are Gladiator Sandals Plus Size Friendly?

Are gladiator sandals plus-size friendly? Absolutely, I'm a firm believer that plus-size girls can rock gladiator sandals. The key to find the perfect sandal is finding a gladiator sandal with the perfect straps and one that allows stretch. I just recently score these gems at a local shoe store in Memphis called Shoe Time.

My Favorite Plus Size Online Stores

So it's is know secret that plus-size shopping is limited. I personally do 95% of my shopping for clothing online. There are quite a few of you who e-mail me and ask me about sizing, delivery times and etc. So I figured I would would compile a list of my favorite online stores and the sizing.

1. Newlook.com

I have been obsessed with this store as of lately. I love the variety of plus-size clothing, they provide chic and trendy items with great quality at a affordable price. The sizing is true to size however, this is a UK store so please look at the UK sizing for it is different from US sizing. I shop under the plus-size link and the normal link but I filter the results to my size. Newlook's normal clothing goes to a size 16/18 and then the provide a plus-size section as well. The delivery timeframe is about 5-8 business days. Not bad at all = )

2. Asos.com

Asos is another UK online store but they also have a US website. This is where I find all of my sexy bodycon skirts and dresses. Asos has a Curve line that caters strictly to the curvier girls. They have free shipping!!!!! Which I absolutely love and free returns. I have noticed that with their bodycon skirts and dresses they definitely run big for I can fit a 14 in their bodycon skirts and dresses but I am a true size 18. So when ordering always pay attention to the type of material the item is made out of.

3. Forever21.com

Forever21 by far is very affordable and trendy. However their items sell out very fast so if you see something go ahead and get it because it may not be available for long. I find their sizing true to size delivery is average and they have physical stores in the US so you can go inside the store to try their items on (not all stores carry plus-size). Also Forever21 will send new items to the stores before they sell them on the website so if you local Forever21 carries plus-size you will have a heads up before most people.

3. Plussizefix.com

I recently ordered my anniversary dress from this website and the sizing is true to size with standard delivery. I find myself going back to this website when I want something sexy!!!!

4. DorothyPerkins.com
DorothyPerkins reminds me of Ann Taylor or the Loft. They provide more conservative pieces which would be great for work, church or business.
